Alderney Week, August 2010                   The Annual Pet Show....where quite often owners look like their pets       Quarry Party                 Sandcastle competition
Every year the 2000 residents of the Channel Island Alderney have a week long celebration to celebrate the end of WW2 and also the island no longer being a concentration camp.                           On the last evening of Alderney Week a torchlight procession through the town is held finishing with a party in a disued quarry. The party attracts mainly teenagers having their first taste of alcohol and all night partying, but also quite a few middle aged men who mix with the teens sharing cigerettes and alcohol.
