Ken donated his kidney to his daughter Laura in January 2009. Shelia and Bill. Bill donated his kidney to his wife Sheila, they recently celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary. Julia and Doug. Doug donated his kidney to his wife Julia. Shazia and Perveen. Shazia received a kidney from her Mum in 2007. Lucy and Nicola. Five year old Lucy suffers from Juvenile Nephronophthisis which causes renal failure. Nicola, her Mum, is going to donate her kidney to Lucy. Leroy. Leroy alturistically donated his kidney to a stranger in Februrary 2008. Archie and Malcolm. Seven year old Archie received a kidney from his Dad, Malcolm, almost 6 years ago. Sarah and Shep. Sarah donated her kidney to her boyfriend Shep in November 2008. Michelle and Max. Michelle sets up Max's dialysis machine for the night where he will be attached to it for 12 hours. In January Michelle, Max's Mum, is giving him her kidney. Jan and Liz. Jan's best friend Liz donated a kidney to her just 10 weeks before the Adidas 5K Race. The transformation in Jan is unbelievable. Sam and Simon are husband and wife. Sam donated her kidney to Simon in July of this year. John received a kidney from his sister, Liz, 10 years ago. Ashley donated a kidney to her brother Nick almost a year ago. Andy's best friend Maff gave him a kidney. Leroy donated a kidney to his daughter, Ermine in October 2008.
I received a kidney from a very kind friend in October 2008. After 5 years on dialysis his selfless act has totally changed my life. Give and Let Live explores the relationship between kidney donors and their recipients and the bond they have. This series of images is on permant display in the Royal Country Sussex Hospital and the Princess Royal Hospital and is being exhibited in Westminster Library from 16th - 28th August 2010.
